East Liberty, Pittsburgh, 15206
East Liberty is a diverse neighborhood located in Pittsburgh’s East End that has seen large scale redevelopment over the past decade. It has become a hotbed of investor “flipping” activity in the residential areas. The neighborhood is comprised of a mix of grand old homes, renovated energy-efficient properties and new home construction. The large commercial shopping district is the location of the only big box stores in the city core, including Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Home Depot and Target as well as a number of eclectic local stores. The area has placed a strong emphasis on sustainable development, and walkability. It benefits from its close proximity to the educational and medical hubs, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and the Bakery Square development, the location of Google’s Pittsburgh office. Prices vary widely in this neighborhood based on the condition of the house. East Liberty blends in to the desirable Highland Park neighborhood and borders the Morningside and Garfield neighborhoods. RE/MAX Select Realty’s East End City office is located at 5817 Penn Avenue in East Liberty.
