Monroeville, PA 15146
Monroeville is a suburban Allegheny County community located 12 miles east of the City of Pittsburgh. The community is made up of a mix of residential neighborhoods surrounding a robust commercial district located along Rt. 22. Monroeville Mall is one of the regions largest shopping complexes. For film buffs, here is a piece of Pittsburgh lore: The mall was the setting for George Romero’s 1978 zombie movie “Dawn of the Dead.” The community is located at the crossroad of I-376 (the parkway east) and the PA Turnpike, making it an excellent home for those who need to travel across the state or into the city. Monroeville is home to the eastern branch of the Community College of Allegheny County, Boyce Park and numerous shopping, dining and entertainment options. It is served by Gateway School District.
